new baby...new budget...less spending money...less coffee and bagels...need solution...need more people to leave their CTA transit cards around the trains and stops with money on them so that i can justify bagels and coffee...bagels and coffee are life...

woman in front of me left a quarter on the counter after she bought her train ticket. as the agent was busy finding the right ticket, i palmed the quarter.

i'm not proud.

well, just a little.

Sweet sweaty liquified goats, check out these last two entry amounts. $24.65 found on the ground in the form of a brand new Metra (commuter train line) 10 ride pass....(actual value of the card $31.45 because the card is for transit further than our house....currently evaluating whether the $7.20 loss of value by only taking the card to zone C instead of zone E is worth moving for....)

if i was any hotter, i'd be spontaneously combusting.

About a month ago, I found a 30 dollar bill (well, a 20 and a 10, but it sounds fancier that way, bite me) on the ground at Target.

I had to spend about 10 of it buying new underwear after I wet myself.

HOT DAMN! I've been too lazy, too tired, to sick of getting no money that I haven't picked up a CTA card off the ground in about 6 months.

Yesterday, I listened to the little voice in my head telling me that this particular card was different. better. stronger. faster. RICHER.

And, to repeat my earlier sentiment, HOT DAMN!. $4.20, baby. I'm on fire. En fuego. Can't touch this.

I own you.

been over a month. about 10-12 cards checked...no farking money.

i did, however get a ride to work from the guy up the street this week. a cool $1.50 savings turned right into sweet, sweet caffeine.

and i am beginning to wonder how the 'new' 'smart' cards are gonna impact my 'ability' to find money on transit cards. now is not a happy time on the found money front.

Wee! almost 4 weeks of empty cards. and then, this morning, on the way off the train I found him. My one true love. My card with 50 cents on it. The world once again has meaning to me.
