We were out on the lawn yesterday after a small bike ride, and Alli wanted to "play a game"...so we decided to try to invent some... Alli was unbeatable at her first creation...

Alli walks to me with two rocks, one pretty large one and one more pebble sized. She hands me the pebble and says:

"I have a game. We each get a rock and whichever has the bigger rock wins! LOOK! I WIN!"

Alli walks into the kitchen and says....

"Daddy, do you ever wish that you had hair?"
~ Wednesday, April 13
Alli, walking into the living room....

"I feel like I pooped in my pants, but it was just a fart."

alli was 'cooking' at her kitchen in the dining room the other day....

daddy: 'al-jo, can you come here for a second?'

alli: 'NO! i'm not alli! i'm rachael ray!'

daddy: 'oh, ok rachael, can you come here?'

rachael: 'NO! i'm busy cooking right now. shhhhhhh!'

Latest bathroom stalling technique:

Alli: "Mommy, I can't get out of the tub. Ever. I'm a fish now." (Demonstrates her swimming in bathtub prowess).

Mommy: "That's great fish swimming. It's time for all fish to get out of the water now."

Alli: "I can't. I would have to walk on my tail, and that would hurt."

.. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..

And tonight with Daddy:

Alli: "Some animals eat fish sometimes."

Daddy: "Like which?"

Alli: "Giraffes sometimes."

Daddy: "Any others?"

Alli: "Ummm no...just giraffes and ...oh elephants too. Just giraffes and elephants."

I've been in school now for 4 weeks. Alli has adjusted well to the changes we've had to make in her schedule so far, and she understands, in the way that a 3-year-old can, that Mommy is "learning how to be a teacher."

Alli's comment to Daddy after shipping Mommy off to school of late:

"It's taking Mommy a long time to learn to be a teacher."
